About Michael Hubert
Michael is a visual artist and teacher who has had a studio and home for the past three decades in South Dartmouth, Ma. Born and raised in Central Massachusetts, Michael’s art education began at Southeastern Massachusetts University(AKA The University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth) in 1969 where he graduated with a BFA in 1973 and a Masters in Art Education in 1980. For the past 35 years Michael and his wife Christine have operated their arts based independent school, the Dartmouth Early Learning Center, on Gulf Road in Dartmouth, MA. Michael’s work involves exploring line, color and movement in painterly abstractions with references to landscape and nature. Michael cites the works of Cezanne, Kandinsky, and Afro Basaldella as highly influential. More recently, the evocative landscapes of Richard Diebenkorn and Nicholas deStael are sources of inspiration.
